The roasted bean water is the drink of choice of millions of people every day. Aside from the benefit of the burst of energy caffeine supplies in every cup, coffee can be good for you.

First, it’s full of antioxidants, the chemicals that protect cells and help extend cell life.

Second, it’s believed coffee helps prevent Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. Three to five cups of coffee per day reduces a person’s chance of getting Alzheimer’s by up to 65 percent!

Third, several studies suggest that drinking moderate amounts of coffee can help prevent both certain types of cancers and heart disease as well. The jury is still out as to whether or not the beverage can help with diabetes but studies show a bit of promise with that malady.

Fourth, caffeine has medicinal uses as well. Common headache medicine uses caffeine for migraines.

Lastly, coffee seems to be able to stave off depression. There’s a direct correlation between stopping caffeine and depression.

Even with all the benefits coffee brings, it’s still best to take coffee in moderation. Too much caffeine can and does give some people irregular heartbeat.

Avoid decaffeinated coffee. The process to decaffeinate coffee beans requires the coffee beans to be soaked in a chemical solvent, not the healthiest choice. Also, try not to drink too much coffee later in the day, it may interfere with sleep.
